Top 11 things you should do while doing requests

Remember that from now on I can only do requests of Different songs videos, gameplay footage and still artwork but not for animations or full length music videos. But when you request, you should be careful with what you request. You don't know whether or not they will be accepted or rejected. But keep in mind that the rules page (Rules of Skylanders w/ Different songs (optional)) is not restricted and can be broken anytime. You can submit as many requests as you want but a least consider doing these top 11 things you should do while doing requests.

11. Explain your request
This is pretty much rule 11 on my Rules of Differents songs page. I've given the link to that above. Just go to rule 11 over that page and that's what this thing is all about.

10. Don't say "Because it sounds cool"
That is the most informal, illogical and unreasonable excuse for me to use that request. Remember, they have to have at least one trait related to a Skylander's name, appearance or gameplay. It does not matter if they are hits or they sound catchy, they should have a visual reason why they fit that particular Skylander. A lot of people wanted me to use Fancy by Iggy Azalea because "it sounds cool" (I do not feel the same way) without giving a proper reason. I did not find anything fitting about Fancy for any Skylander (thankfully Weird Al Yankovic's parody, Handy has a trait that fits 4 Skylanders). They may sound cool but they can confuse people. Just be aware of that. Also, the "because it sounds cool" thing is one reason why some movies that overuse the pop songs get critically panned because they do almost nothing to the story except to "sound cool". Don't believe me, just watch Strange Magic and Chicken Little. It made sense for Guardians of the Galaxy because it was all from Quill's cassette.

9. Look at the Skylanders name, appearance and gameplay and then request
Remember, a lot of people who have not played the Skylanders or knew very little about them tend to understand how the songs fit by looking at the name, appearance and gameplay of the characters. Some Skylanders players might also not bother with the backstories. Heck, I haven't read all of the Skylanders backstories and even I have problems remembering the ones I did read (besides, Lightning Rod and Smolderdash have two different backstories from different sources). The best way to see the names, appearances and gameplay is to look at the Soul Gem previews of the Skylanders games multiple times to let the inspiration sink in. Then only should you request.

8. Don't rush your request
As well as looking through the name, appearance and gameplay of the Skylander, you should also look into the song as well. When you thought you know the name of the song that immediately fits for that Skylander, take a peek at the lyrics and see if it's fine enough to be added. If you request too quickly, it might not be what you really wanted for that Skylander.

6. Check my Different song playlists before you request
Before you do request for a song, take a look at the playlists I made. Here are some examples:

It means the song you have requested might have already been added to the videos. Also, keep in mind that I try not to use songs for the same franchise (Let it Go for Elsa in Disney Infinity, Drill-X's song for Drill Sergeant for Skylanders and the Donkey Kong Country Theme Song for DK in amiibo for example) but they can be used for opposite franchises (Ultron could have Pull Your Strings). You can however request for the same song if I'm preparing a new different song playlist.

5. Your requests will be chosen randomly

4. It all depends on my opinion
Whether you like it or not, it all depends on wheter I like it or not. If I like it, it will be included in the video (but not always immediately). If I don't like it, I'll probably reject it or postpone it for a better time.

3. Do not fight for your requests against others
When people keep asking me to use which song first, they end up having a commenting war with each other saying which song should be the first. This can lead to a lot of frustration and increases the chances of either of those users blocked or not allowing either of their song choices to be used. I'd like to be diplomatic with my fans and other users (even if some of them do like Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig or Teen Titans Go) and if they want to stay fans of me, they should too.

2. If your request doesn't make it, wait for next game or character
This is where you have to be really patient. If you want a song to be included but it didn't make it, wait for the next game or character. Even if it's a song you so desparately want to have, you should think like a vulture. They wait for a living thing to die and then they come over to feast. They can wait as long as many days before the time is right. There are other things in the world that will allow you to be distracted while you wait. But if you are really impatient, chances of being blocked will rise.

1. Don't HAMMER/DEMAND your request
Similar to number 3 on the list, when you repeatly comment on your request for my videos, it can be annoying. There is a time when I'm unable to take that request because the skylander has been occupied by another song or I don't really see how that fits the Skylander or I have a dislike for the song. But, it you keep hammering that request on my videos, that's it! I'm building the wall! You can however request again when I have trouble remembering that song and having trouble finding the previous comment.

And those are the Top 11 things you should do while you are requesting on my videos. They aren't a must do, they are a should do. They can be broken if you want to but you should at least consider doing one of them.
